Being a military brat, I experienced a childhood filled with constant moves across the country due to my father's strong affiliation with the Army. It wasn't until the start of my senior year in high school that we finally settled in my father's hometown in the Florida panhandle. Growing into adulthood, I established my roots there, but after five decades, I started feeling unsettled. Yearning for a place that truly resonated with me, I made the life-altering decision to relocate.
Vermont had always held a special place in my heart, and in 2023, I seized the opportunity to make it my home. Over a journey spanning 1200 miles, I ventured into the enchanting Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, where I found solace. Nestling into this serene corner, I embraced a new community, nurtured friendships, and adopted fresh perspectives that enriched my life.
